Responsibilities

About the Role

The firm is looking to add an Associate to its credit investment team in New York. You’ll be part of a lean deal team and get broad exposure and real responsibility from day one.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and execute investments across the capital structure, including first lien debt, mezzanine, structured and preferred equity, and common equity
• Screen new opportunities and form views on business models, industry dynamics and key business drivers
• Build detailed financial models to assess returns, downside protection and structuring options
• Run PE-style due diligence, including management meetings, industry research and coordination with third-party advisors
• Prepare investment memos and present recommendations to the investment committee
• Monitor existing portfolio investments and work closely with management teams after close

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in investment banking (M&A, restructuring, leveraged finance or DCM) or at a private credit investment firm
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Commercial judgment and a real interest in understanding how businesses work
• Strong written and verbal communication, especially memo writing
• An investor’s mindset: intellectual honesty, humility and comfort saying what you don’t know
• Ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment with limited hierarchy
• Willingness to work in-office full time in New York
