Job summary

BDO USA, LLP in Private Client Services seeks a Tax Managing Director to lead engagements for high net-worth individuals, families, and executives. You will drive tax compliance, consulting, and complex planning while mentoring teams and expanding client relationships.

The role emphasizes leadership, business development, and delivering sophisticated tax strategies across estate, gift, and trust structures within a boutique, high-touch practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Ten+ years of accounting/finance/law experience required.
• Expertise in private client services tax required.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Public accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads tax and consulting engagements and mentors team members.
• Primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues.
• Reviews diverse tax returns and provides feedback to staff.
• Directs communications with government agencies on complex matters.
• Identifies issues, conducts tax research, and recommends client strategies.
• Develops knowledge of high net-worth tax planning and client needs.
• Monitors engagements to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Supports PCS/firm contributions including billing and training.
• Builds and maintains client and professional relationships.
