Job summary

BDO USA in Stamford, CT, is seeking a Tax Manager in Private Client Services to provide tax compliance and consulting to high-net-worth clients. You will lead engagements, supervise staff, and work with clients and their advisors to gather information for tax returns.

The role requires CPA/EA or attorney credentials, a strong background in accounting/tax, and proficiency with MS Office and tax software. Experience in private client services is preferred, with opportunities for business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, required.
• Master’s degree in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in accounting, finance, or law, required.
• Experience in public accounting or private client service, preferred.
• CPA/EA credential or attorney license (or equivalent) required.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and tax software; experience with tax research tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages tax and consulting engagements and identifies client needs and opportunities.
• Gathers information from clients and advisors to prepare tax returns.
• Reviews returns across individuals, trusts, estates, S-Corps, foundations, partnerships, and gifts.
• Communicates with government agencies on complex matters.
• Performs advanced tax research and provides recommendations to PCS leadership.
• Expands knowledge through client engagements and current tax developments.
• Prioritizes tasks and collaborates with team to complete work.
• Supports PCS or firm with billing, recruiting, and training activities.
• Builds and maintains relationships with clients and external sources.
