Job summary

Air Culinaire Worldwide in White Plains, NY is seeking a Sous Chef for our brand-new White Plains kitchen opening November 2026. This role oversees hot food preparation and inventory, and acts as on-site problem solver in the GM's absence.

Training and initial work will occur at our Teterboro facility in Carlstadt, NJ until the White Plains kitchen opens. You’ll join a dynamic team serving private aviation catering with a strong focus on hospitality and quality.

Qualifications

• Four-year culinary degree preferred.
• Individual must have 5-7 years of experience in a kitchen environment within a catering or fine dining establishment.
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures and government regulations regarding the food code.
• Culinary preparation and excellent knife skills are a must.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team-driven, fast-paced environment is essential.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• The Sous Chef must have an excellent driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of hot food and related inventory levels of the kitchen.
• Maintain Air Culinaire Standards and provide on-site leadership in the absence of the GM.
• Quality control for adherence to guidelines.
• Rotate products, label and date all food.
• Train kitchen staff on safety SOPs and hazards.
