ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Privacy Associate Attorney to join its National Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice Group in Washington, DC.

The role focuses on advising clients on evolving data protection laws, regulatory compliance, and complex privacy matters. Candidates should have a JD from a top-tier school, DC bar admission or eligibility to waive, 1–3 years of privacy experience, and strong drafting and client communication skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC (or eligible to waive into the DC Bar), in good standing.
• 1–3 years of substantive privacy, cybersecurity, or data protection experience.
• Experience advising clients on privacy compliance, data protection, and related regulatory matters.
• Familiarity with U.S. privacy laws and regulations, including state privacy frameworks and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on privacy compliance, data governance, and data protection requirements across industries.
• Assist clients with regulatory compliance involving U.S. and international privacy frameworks.
• Conduct privacy and cybersecurity due diligence in corporate and commercial transactions.
• Draft, review, and update privacy policies, data processing agreements, and related documentation.
• Support clients with cybersecurity preparedness, incident response, investigations, and risk-management initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide strategic guidance on emerging privacy and cybersecurity requirements.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas on complex regulatory, transactional, and advisory matters.
