Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to lead the prison recreational program, ensure accreditation standards are met, and develop a comprehensive annual plan that promotes physical, mental, and social well‑being for inmates.

Reporting to the Associate Warden for Operations, you will oversee activity planning, equipment management, library access for offenders, and coordination with staff, community volunteers, and external agencies to enrich programs while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services or criminal justice field and one year of experience in corrections or related work.
• Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• Veterans & National Guard Preference: attach required forms if applying under preference categories.
