Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction in Raleigh seeks a Correctional Food Service Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the food service at Central Prison. You will supervise officers, manage large-scale meal preparation, and ensure the safety and sanitation of diets for offenders.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED with several years of institutional food service experience; eligibility for certification and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED diploma AND four years of experience in institutional food preparation and food services, or as a Correctional Officer, or three years as a Correctional Food Service Officer.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Correctional Food Service Officers.
• Oversee offenders performing large-scale food activities.
• Supervise preparation and serving of regular and therapeutic diets for offenders.
• Plan, direct and supervise daily food preparation and serving.
• Maintain sanitation and recordkeeping; operate computerized food systems.
• Conduct employee performance appraisals.
