SMART Pain Management, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant to manage prior authorizations and respond to medication inquiries. You will obtain authorizations, follow up with patients, and communicate with insurers and pharmacies to ensure timely processing.

The role requires solid MS Office skills, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of related experience as Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant.
• Strong knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to perform calculations, solve problems and use reasoning.
• Medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care regarding Prior Authorizations and medication inquiries.
• Obtains prior-authorizations and follows up with patients on status.
• Communicates with insurance companies and pharmacies as needed.
• Prepares forms and requisitions for insurance companies and pharmacies.
• Submits prior-authorizations within 72 business hours.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement and workflow efficiency.
• Communicates denials and next steps to staff.
• Maintains professional and courteous patient care.
