Clearway Pain Solutions in Annapolis, MD is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to manage prior authorizations and patient inquiries. You will obtain prior authorizations, track statuses, and liaise with insurance companies, pharmacies, and patients to resolve medication issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of related experience as Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant.
• Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to perform calculations, problem solve and use reasoning.
• Knowledge of medical practices and medical terminology.
• Ability to meet predefined production and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Obtain prior authorizations and follow up within 72 business hours.
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and pharmacies regarding medication issues.
• Ensure accuracy of forms submitted to insurers and pharmacies.
• Complete required documentation for prior authorizations.
• Provide courteous patient care and maintain product knowledge.
• Identify process improvements to enhance workflow and patient experience.
• Check email regularly and complete trainings as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
