Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of scheduling, insurance or medical office experience preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic health systems including billing/pre-authorizations/coding preferred.
• Anatomy and medical terminology knowledge is preferred.
• Medical office experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of private, commercial and government insurance payer requirements.
• Experience using EMR software (e.g., Workday, Qgenda) is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Verify if authorization is required and obtain necessary information.
• Process insurance verification and pre-authorizations prior to exams.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating exams between patients, technologists, and staff.
• Update patient demographics and insurance information in internal systems.
• Maintain records and generate reports on payer or workflow issues.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff; ensure HIPAA compliance.
