Job summary

Phoenix Heart Vein Vascular is seeking an Authorization Coordinator to join our fast-paced team in Arizona. You will secure prior authorizations for diagnostic tests, verify eligibility and benefits, and ensure required referrals are in place before patient appointments.

You will collaborate with physicians, front desk staff, and billing, maintain accurate documentation in the EMR, and respond to inquiries within 24 hours while upholding patient confidentiality and high customer service

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience and/or training.
• In-depth knowledge of medical health insurance.
• Diagnostic Authorization testing experience.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with little supervision and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Review schedule for current date through five days out to identify needed authorizations.
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits.
• Contact referring physicians, PCPs or health plans for referrals and authorizations.
• Inform patients about proper insurance requirements as needed.
• Update patient accounts with accurate authorization information.
• Enter referrals/authorization data into dates of service before claim submission.
• Assist billing with eligibility, authorizations, and referrals questions.
• Document in EMR and respond within 24 hours.
• Notify supervisor of any delays or changes in obtaining authorizations.
