Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support outpatient operations by managing the end-to-end prior-authorization workflow. You will ensure timely, accurate submissions to payers and work closely with clinical teams to safeguard patient access to therapy.

Requires current SCBOP registration, and certification through PTCB or ExCPT. Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent, with 0–6 months of experience considered for entry.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) is required and must be maintained.
• Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
• Education: High School Degree or Equivalent; 0–6 months experience may be considered.

Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) is required and must be maintained. Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification:

• Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023.
• New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire.
• New team members who are enrolled or will enroll ina pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification.
