Job summary

Green Bay Packaging in Wisconsin is seeking a safety-conscious production operator to join our team. This role requires reporting of time, production, and material usage, setting up and running printing equipment, and maintaining a clean, efficient work area.

Overtime and night shifts are possible; candidates should have a high school diploma and good verbal communication. Prior machine operation experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous machine operations experience in manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Candidates must be able to work all shifts including rotating and/or straight night shift. Overtime including weekends will be required.
  • Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and follow all policies to maintain a safe environment.
  • Report accurate time, production, and material usage.
  • Set up ink system and adjust flow; mount dies and set up printing heads.
  • Operate and oversee machine runs; direct and assist crew during changes and clean-up.
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly and report any irregularities to supervision.

  • Fills ink system and adjusts flow
  • Moves up stock to the machine, feeds or tends pre-feeder
  • Mounts dies and makes necessary adjustments to the machine for proper impression
  • Sets up slotting and scoring heads
  • Stacks, bundles and inspects cartons according to instructions
  • Mounts print plates and sets up machine accurately
  • Reports irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the Team Operations Manager
  • Directs and assists crew in running, changing over, starting up and cleaning up the machine
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly
  • Other job tasks and projects as assigned

  • Replaces broken cutting die knives if needed
  • Reports irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the Team Operations Manager
  • Directs and assists crew in running, changing over, starting up and cleaning up the machine
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly
  • Other job tasks and projects as assigned

This position requires a self-motivated individual willing to work safely in a team based system. They need to have the ability to schedule their work, prioritize their workload, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. A desire for continuous improvement and quality workmanship are required to meet our customers increasing demands.
