The Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Report all safety concerns or issues to immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
  • Complete make-ready in accordance with the Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used.
  • Perform all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks.
  • Operate press to produce product in accordance to customer specifications while maintaining quality, waste, and press efficiency.
  • Maintain consistent quality during the production run, including critical quality checks such as copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion.
  • Complete all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard.
  • Efficiently complete press make-readies.
  • Complete all required equipment maintenance duties.
  • Clean plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricate press as needed.
  • Input all required information into the GlobeTek system for material usage and time in an accurate and prompt manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience as a printing press operator and/or training.
  • Physical demands include standing, using hands to feel and touch; reaching with arms and hands; talking and hearing.
  • Frequent walking is required.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
