GENERAL OVERVIEW

The Printing Press Operator is responsible for the operation of a flexographic printing press and related equipment under the direction of the Printing Press Supervisor. This position is primarily responsible for printing RFID (radio frequency identification) tags.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

The Printing Press Operator is responsible for the operation of a flexographic printing press and related equipment under the direction of the Printing Press Supervisor. This position is primarily responsible for printing RFID (radio frequency identification) tags.

The Shift time for this role is 3:30pm - 2am Monday through Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrates ability to provide direction to fellow team members and competency of basic and advanced printing techniques, Converting, quality control, and:

  • Perform start-up, operation, and shut-down procedures for flexographic printer and related equipment.
  • Accurately and precisely carry out detailed instructions from job orders.
  • Identify possible errors or problems and take prompt action to correct
  • Set up/adjust press for job runs to meet specifications
  • Monitor product for quality during job runs.
  • Check the accuracy of detail against specifications. Take action to correct any problems
  • Monitor equipment during job runs. Remain alert to mechanical problems and refer as necessary to maintenance
  • Initiate the start up and running of jobs in keeping with production schedule.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and upkeep
  • Meet standards for output, waste, and spoilage
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines. Keep workspace clean and organized for efficiency in shift changeovers
  • Accurately complete related logs and paperwork.
  • Finishing of Pre-printed Digital print (including operating presses, laminating, Die cutting, packing, etc.)
  • Operating Specialized Converting Machines
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • 2-4 years' experience in Flexographic printing including Die cutting preferred
  • Experience with Mark Andy series E or P Flexographic printing presses preferred
  • Mechanical and technical skills/aptitude
  • Basic math skills to read ruler and calculate label dimensions for stock optimization
  • Ability to operate equipment to obtain proficiency as measured through production and quality standards
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions for work orders
  • Ability to communicate professionally
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Team player with a mature & willing to learn attitude.
  • Good knowledge in use of computers
