Job description

Description

The Digital Press Operator is responsible for operating and troubleshooting Digital Presses (HP T250 and Canon 9300Z) and finishing equipment to meet daily production and quality goals in a safe and efficient manner. This role will work with carriable data printing, PHI, and secure mail.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Raster Image Process [RIP] static / variable PDF files and set up press runs per the job ticket using Digital Press Front End [DFE].
  • Manipulate digital color calibration set-up to meet expectations for the color target.
  • Review all proofs and final product samples produced on digital equipment before releasing to internal or external stakeholders.
  • Perform standard quality checks and processes to ensure quality expectations are met.
  • Conduct regular and special maintenance on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance in line with equipment specifications and acquired knowledge of machine operations.
  • Record maintenance and service calls in the maintenance logbook as required.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain digital color and black only imaging equipment.
  • Perform operator maintenance and work with phone support to troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain and uphold a clean work area.
  • Monitor supply levels and assist with consumable orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Strong communication and writing skills to interpret production tickets.
  • Aptitude to work independently with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail for Quality Standard Inspections.
  • High degree of professionalism required to manage needs of internal and external clients.
  • High mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot the set up and maintenance of equipment, including-depth knowledge of press capabilities.

Education and Experience

  • A High School diploma/GED along with the equivalent industry related experience and/or a minimum of two years in a similar role.
  • A minimum of 2 of proven Digital Press Operator experience required. (E.g. of required machine experience: Xerox Iridesse, Canon iX, Canon Titan, Konica Minolta AccurioPRESS. HP T250, Canon Oce Colorstream).

Client-Sensitive Data and Responsibility

This position requires or may require access to “Client-Sensitive” data, PHI/ePHI access or authorization. Mandatory security training as well as background, drug screen, credit check will be implemented.

Salary

  • $18.00 - $24.00 per hour.
