Printing Material Handler — 2nd Shift

Job summary

Community Impact Newspaper is seeking a hands-on Material Handler to support our Pflugerville printing operations. You will move supplies, set up equipment, perform housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe work space.

Responsibilities include lifting up to 50 pounds, clearing jams, routine machine checks, and ensuring readiness of the production area. The role requires attention to quality control and a proactive team attitude.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to read and interpret labels and/or other printed materials.
• Ability to work occasional weekends or variable shifts based on business needs.
• Available to work 10–30 hours per week, as needed, during 2nd shift hours (3:30 PM to 12 AM, M-F)

Responsibilities

• Lift, move, and stack materials by hand and by use of hand-jacks, forklifts, clamp-lifts, etc.
• Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, wiping, and vacuuming oil, ink, paper and dust from floors, walls and machinery
• Perform routine maintenance such as clearing jams and restarting machines
• Maintain knowledge of quality control procedures
• Collect and inspect random samples to identify defects or errors
• Ensure area readiness
