Job summary

Polytainers is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Printing Maintenance in Lee’s Summit, MO. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing printing equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency, with emphasis on machine changeovers, preventative maintenance, and accurate documentation.

You will work in a fast-paced production environment, troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical issues, and collaborating with team members to sustain safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum two years’ maintenance experience in a fast-paced or high-speed environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand pneumatics.
• Proficient with mechanics’ hand tools and precision measuring tools.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Good PC skills including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of injection molding and thermoforming processes.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical machine issues by identifying, reporting, and performing emergency repairs.
• Execute work orders and other repairs (e.g. Clean and lubricate machines).
• Communicate to the Group Lead or Production Supervisor of any performance issues and repairs that would affect production, safety or quality.
• Perform efficient changeovers: mandrel changes, flame setup, feeder re-stacker, change conveyors, sign-off on setups.
• Record production issues on shift reports.
• Update schedule board with equipment issues.
• Maintain and clean color heads for efficiency.
• Inspect machine parts (filters, exhaust, cooling systems, belts, etc.) regularly.
