Job summary

MCC in Provo, UT is seeking a Finishing Machine Operator for multiple shifts to perform the final steps in production, ensuring quality, durability, and aesthetics of finished products. You will splice, trim, and inspect rolls, while recording data in Globetek and supporting special projects.

Qualified candidates have a GED or high school diploma, basic printing knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience or in-depth knowledge of lithographic, flexographic, or digital printing preferred.
• Physical requirements: standing, using hands to feel and touch, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear; frequent walking; occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds; continuous eye concentration; specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Continuously check for print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice the roll web back together per the specification.
• Utilize a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
• Handle rolls and palletize them accordingly to prevent damage.
• Understand basic printing and seam related defects.
• Record and enter data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Globetek).
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
