Job summary

Abacus Corporation is seeking a skilled printer operator to set up, configure, and run digital printers, ensuring color accuracy, resolution, and size according to client specs. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, inspect output for quality, and maintain logs.

This role requires attention to detail and safe handling of inks and solvents. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and hands-on experience with digital printing

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and run digital printers to produce prints according to specifications, including color, size, and resolution.
• Maintenance and cleaning: perform routine preventative maintenance, clean print heads, rollers, and other printer components, replace consumables like ink cartridges and toner.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, or software issues that arise during printing operations, including paper jams, color misalignment, and software errors.
• Inspect printed materials for accuracy, consistency, and quality, ensuring adherence to client specifications and industry standards.
• Maintain logs of maintenance, repairs, and production activities. Report recurring issues and coordinate with management or vendors for repairs when necessary.
• Use digital prepress and printer control software for job scheduling, color management, and file preparation.
• Follow safety protocols and industry regulations related to chemical handling (inks and solvents) and printer operation.
