Job summary

Tekni-Plex, Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support printing and packaging equipment in our Ohio facilities.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate printers, denesters, and bag sealers, and perform preventative maintenance to maximize uptime. The role requires practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and previous experience with packaging line equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with Denesters, Printers, Bag Sealers and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist departmental personnel in troubleshooting and maintenance of printing/packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs or adjustments to printers and related systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and coordinate downtime with management.
• Monitor and ensure proper functionality of printing equipment including detachables and denesters.
• Review output against machine capabilities and seek improvements to uptime.
• Follow plant safety and housekeeping guidelines and document parts used for inventory control.

Job description

Proficient in the understanding of fiber manufacturing equipment with thorough knowledge of the printing and packaging operations. Assists department leads in the troubleshooting, adjustment, and maintenance of printing equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist departmental personnel in troubleshooting, operation, and processing capability.
• Troubleshoots equipment and makes appropriate machine repairs/adjustments.
• Performs preventative maintenance inspections of printing and packaging equipment and communicates to manager to plan downtime for repairs.
• Monitors printing equipment, such as detachables and denesters to ensure proper functionality.
• Reviews machine output against maintenance capabilities of machines and research ways to improve machine uptime.
• Follows and participates in plant safety and housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
• Receives request from Printer Lead and/or Production Supervisor before performing work on printers that will cause downtime.
• Documents all parts used into Asset Essential to keep an accurate inventory.
• Ensures product flow is not hindered by mechanical failure.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Communicates to Printing Process Engineer and Detachable Specialist of ongoing printer and detachable issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Complete understanding of Denesters, Printers, Bag Sealers, and Mechanical Components or prior experience that will expedite the learning process. Must have an above average mechanical aptitude.
