Job summary

Inteplast Group in Massachusetts is seeking a Print Technician B to support flexographic printing operations. You will train on day shift and may transfer to night shift after training, assisting with setup, line adjustments and quality control.

The role requires readiness to work overtime, good English communication, basic math, and the ability to read work instructions and print samples. You will help maintain equipment, follow safety procedures, and contribute to on-time production.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to understand work instructions and read print samples.
  • Broad knowledge and troubleshooting capability.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Control downtime by communicating with operations and scheduling preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor print quality, adjust lines to meet customer specs, assist with set-ups and changeovers.
  • Maintain press areas through THM and housekeeping.
  • Attend OSHA trainings and participate in procedures development.
  • Assist in development of work procedures and suggest equipment modifications.
  • Comply with EH&S requirements and document daily cleaning.
  • Monitor supply levels and assist with set-ups as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job description

  • Technicians will train on day shift but must be willing and flexible to transfer to night shift after training.
  • With a constant focus on safety first, support production and quality by ensuring reliable operation equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience:
    • Prefer experience with Flexographic Press equipment or minimum six months experience as Print Technician B.
    • Plastic print manufacturing experience with mechanical aptitude is highly preferred
  • Education/Training:
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent is prefer
  • Skills/Knowledge:
    • Broad knowledge and troubleshooting capability
    • Knowledge of basic mathematics
    • Ability to understand work instruction along with print sample reading
    • Monitors print quality and makes timely line adjustment to maximize throughput and assure product conformity to Customer's specifications.
    • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
    • Must have the ability to adjust adjoining lines, as required, to maximize department productivity
  • Work Requirements:
    • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
    • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Control downtime by communicating with operations and scheduling on routine preventive maintenance
  • Continually monitors print quality, makes line adjustments to assure product conformity to Customer specifications, and assists Sr. operators in set-ups and changeovers while primarily maintaining the press and printing operations
  • Ensure all areas in the press are maintained through THM and housekeeping
  • Attend any ongoing training and OSHA classes
  • Assist in the development of work procedures
  • Make recommendations for new/replacement equipment or modifications to existing equipment
  • Comply with all environmental, health, safety and security requirements
  • Inspecting, cleaning and recording of daily cleaning record
  • Monitor and control operation supply needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
  • Inside and outside environments apply
  • Manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
  • Proper PPE includes steel-toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection
  • Other PPE may be required for specific jobs
OTHER INFORMATION:
  • Will be required to periodically work overtime and be on-call, including nights, weekends and holidays
TRAINING:
  • Train on day shift, but must be willing and flexible to transfer to night shift
  • 10/40 hour OSHA training will be required. If not already trained, company will provide training. Additional training will be provided by OEMs as necessary.
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:
  • Specialized equipment and tools provided by Inteplast
  • Use basic and special purpose hand tools, leveling and monitoring instruments
  • Use hoists, cranes and material handling equipment such as forklifts (training provided by Inteplast)
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, climb stairs and work at heights to access and maintain the equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
