Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a Print Technician A to support our packaging production line. The role involves monitoring and maintaining flexographic press operations, reading print samples, and adjusting lines to ensure product conformance with Customer specifications.

Day shift is available with potential for night shifts after training. The position requires basic math, reliable attendance, and strong communication in English to coordinate with operators and management.

Responsibilities

• Control downtime by coordinating with operations and scheduling on routine preventive maintenance.
• Monitor print quality and adjust lines to meet customer specifications; assist Sr. operators in set-ups and changeovers.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in press areas and perform THM housekeeping.
• Attend OSHA training and ongoing instruction sessions.
• Develop or update work procedures as needed.
• Recommend equipment changes or improvements to existing systems.
• Comply with environmental, health, safety and security requirements.
• Record daily cleaning and monitor supply usage.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Print Technician A

POSITION OBJECTIVE

• Technicians will train on day shift but must be willing and flexible to transfer to night shift after training.
• With a constant focus on safety first, support production and quality by ensuring reliable operation of mechanical and electrical equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience:
  • Prefer experience with Flexographic Press equipment or minimum six months experience as Print Technician B.
  • Plastic print manufacturing experience with mechanical aptitude is highly preferred
• Education/Training:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is prefer
• Skills/Knowledge:
  • Broad knowledge and troubleshooting capability
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Ability to understand work instruction along with print sample reading
  • Monitors print quality and makes timely line adjustment to maximize throughput and assure product conformity to Customer’s specifications.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with operators, management, and technical support services
  • Must have the ability to adjust adjoining lines, as required, to maximize department productivity

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Control downtime by communicating with operations and scheduling on routine preventive maintenance
• Continually monitors print quality, makes line adjustments to assure product conformity to Customer specifications, and assists Sr. operators in set-ups and changeovers while primarily maintaining the press and printing operations
• Ensure all areas in the press are maintained through THM and housekeeping
• Attend any ongoing training and OSHA classes
• Assist in the development of work procedures
• Make recommendations for new/replacement equipment or modifications to existing equipment
• Comply with all environmental, health, safety and security requirements
• Inspecting, cleaning and recording of daily cleaning recordMonitor and control operation supply needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION

• Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
• Proper PPE includes steel-toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection
• Other PPE may be required for specific jobs

OTHER INFORMATION

• Will be required to periodically work overtime and be on-call, including nights, weekends and holidays

TRAINING

• Train on day shift, but must be willing and flexible to transfer to night shift
• 10/40 hour OSHA training will be required. If not already trained, company will provide training. Additional training will be provided by OEMs as necessary.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE

• Specialized equipment and tools provided by Inteplast
• Use basic and special purpose hand tools, leveling and monitoring instruments
• Use hoists, cranes and material handling equipment such as forklifts (training provided by Inteplast)

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, climb stairs and work at heights to access and maintain the equipment
