Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: 20 Oser Avenue - Hauppauge, NY 11788Position Type: Full Time/ Tiempo CompletoEducation Level: High School/ BachilleratoSalary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: Graveyard/ De NochePosition Purpose and Objectives: Under the direction of the Print Room Manager, the Print Room Operator is responsible for supporting daily printing operations by assisting the Print Room Manager with material handling, equipment support, and general print room tasks. He/she/they helps ensure print jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule to support downstream mail production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Print Room Manager with setup, operation, and monitoring of printing equipment.
- Load paper, toner, ink, and other supplies into printing equipment.
- Stage print materials and move printed output to designated areas.
- Perform basic quality checks for print clarity, alignment, and readability.
- Remove completed print jobs and prepare them for finishing or inserting.
- Assist with job changeovers, cleanup, and organization of the print room.
- Identify and report obvious equipment issues or print defects to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized print room environment.
- Follow job tickets, written instructions, and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior production, manufacturing, or warehouse experience a plus, but not required.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of mail production processes or willingness to learn production processes and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple inspections in a deadline-driven environment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Maturity, honesty, trust, sensitivity and integrity are a must.
- Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all employees and maintain effective relationships with all levels in the organization.
- Able to work onsite at our Hauppauge location 5 days a week a must.
- Must be flexible with time and willing to work odd hours, including, i.e. very early mornings, evenings, weekends, and working alternate weekends during peak season and periods, etc.
- Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read English.
- Conversational Spanish a plus.
