Job summary

ARC Document Solutions seeks a Color Print Production Operator to join our fast-paced print environment in San Francisco. You will prioritize orders, manage media and finishing options, and ensure high-quality output for clients.

Expect duties from file processing to project packaging, with 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM hours and $23.00-$25.00 per hour based on experience. Strong Adobe CC and finishing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Associates of Arts Degree focusing on Graphic/Production Design and/or 2+ years' equivalent experience in color reprographics.
• Experience with design and file/print editing software.
• Ability to operate a flatbed printer and finish equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize incoming orders based on customer needs, workload, media, finishing, bindery, and machine capabilities.
• Estimate time and media requirements; inform management of unmet requests and propose alternatives.
• Receive, process, and modify client files to print per specifications.
• Make recommendations on media, substrate, bindery, and finishing options.
• Operate and maintain printers, bindery, and finishing equipment.
• Package completed projects for Will-Call, Delivery, or Shipping.
• Organize work area and communicate with customers via email/phone.
• Work overtime when necessary to meet client deadlines.

ARC | RIOT is searching for a Color Print Production Operator to join our team. • Prioritize incoming orders based on such criteria as customer needs, workload, media, finishing, bindery, and machine capabilities.
• Estimate time and media requirements; inform the production manager and/or client of any requests that can’t be met and give recommendations to fulfill client needs.
• Receive, process, & modify client files as needed to print per specifications.
• Make suggestions regarding media, substrate, bindery, and other finishing options.
• Operate and maintain printers, bindery and/or finishing equipment.
• Maintain media, substrate, ink, toner, bindery, and/or finishing inventory.
• QC printed and finished materials based on our high-quality standard.
• Customer Service skills are important to communicate via email and phone.
• Package completed projects for Will-Call, Delivery, or Shipping.
• Organize and arrange your work area to enhance productivity.
• Work overtime when necessary to meet client expectations.
• Assist in other departments as needed.
• Assist customer service by answering phones and taking messages as needed.

Skills that you bring to the job:

• The ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
• High Level Knowledge of Adobe CC - focusing on Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign.
• Finishing experience is a must.
• Must be able to operate a flatbed printer.
• High Level Knowledge of RIP software – Onyx RIP Que, & Fiery a Plus.
• High Level Knowledge of Cut software – Colex Experience a Plus.
• Working knowledge of MS Software such as Outlook, Excel, & Word.
• Tech savvy – able to navigate new (and old) software with limited training.
• Thorough knowledge of materials and equipment utilized in color printing, duplicating, binding, and finishing.
• The ability to lift up to 50lbs, maneuver prints, media, and substrates carefully ensuring no damage occurs when transferring between machines and/or during packaging.
• Attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task while maintaining quality, accuracy & scale.
• A can-do attitude with a continuing need to self-improve by researching new materials and learning innovative ways to utilize production equipment in our quest to delight our clients.

Required Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Associates of Arts Degree focusing on Graphic/Production Design and/or 2+ years' equivalent experience in the color reprographics field using design and file/print editing software.

Pay range: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
