Job summary

West Elm is seeking an Associate Designer to support seasonal product development for multiple departments, collaborating with Design, Merchants, and Sourcing teams. You will help with concept boards, specs, and timely product approvals, reporting to senior designers and management.

The role is onsite in our New York office, with responsibility to meet deadlines and maintain organized development samples. A strong portfolio and design sense are required to reflect brand aesthetics.

Qualifications

• Portfolio or website of current and past experience must be provided.
• Minimum 2 years retail product design experience.
• Degree in Design or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist category Designers to prepare for weekly Product Development meetings and Work Sessions.
• Understand business results and support changes from weekly meetings.
• Support seasonal product presentations and develop specs and concept boards through to product approval.
• Communicate needs clearly with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Maintain organized development samples both physically and digitally.
