Job summary

The City and County of San Francisco is seeking a Print / Mail Machine Operator to operate and maintain large format printing and finishing equipment for reports, brochures, maps, and signage. You will set up bindery and finishing machinery, run high-speed printers, and ensure accurate production output.

Responsibilities include calibrating and maintaining equipment, handling materials, and delivering production reports.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of recent experience operating an offset machine and/or high-speed digital production printer in a reprographic or production center environment.
• Proficiency with large format printers and finishing equipment.
• Ability to perform routine calibrations and maintenance on printing/binding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up bindery and finishing equipment to produce manuals, booklets, brochures and other materials.
• Use high-speed copiers and print drivers (Fiery/Creo) to set up and output print jobs; manage files from share drives/email/work orders.
• Operate spiral binding, folding, laminated mounting, and other finishing processes as required.
• Conduct routine calibrations, adjustments, and cleaning of printing and binding systems.
• Handle material pick-up, delivery, and reporting of production data as needed.
