Job summary

Fruition Group US partners with a venture-backed quantum technology company to advance next-generation quantum computing hardware. We are seeking a Principal Quantum Engineer to provide technical leadership across the quantum hardware organization and help shape the platform's development.

You will set technical direction for hardware and control systems, lead multi-disciplinary programmes, and drive architecture decisions while mentoring engineers and engaging with external researchers.

Qualifications

• PhD-level or equivalent with strong research background in related fields.
• Proven ability to lead quantum hardware programmes and teams.
• Experience communicating complex technical concepts to executives and stakeholders.
• Track record delivering high-impact, technically complex projects in quantum hardware.

Lead the Technology Behind Next-Generation Quantum Computing

We’re partnering with a venture-backed quantum technology company developing next-generation quantum computing hardware.

The organization brings together atomic physics, quantum information, precision optics and advanced engineering to develop scalable quantum systems.

We’re looking for a Principal Quantum Engineer to provide technical leadership across the quantum hardware organisation and help shape the development of the platform.

What You'll Do

• Set technical direction for the design and development of scientific hardware and control systems underpinning the quantum platform.
• Lead high-impact programmes from technical concept through execution and delivery.
• Own complex engineering challenges spanning quantum hardware, instrumentation and control.
• Shape platform architecture and influence key technical decisions.
• Drive innovation and IP arising from system design, development and operation.
• Lead across disciplines, working closely with physicists, hardware engineers and software teams.
• Mentor and develop engineers, raising technical capability across the organisation.
• Represent technical work through publications, presentations and external technical engagement where appropriate.

What You Bring

Required

• PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or a related discipline
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience in quantum computing hardware
• Demonstrated technical leadership of quantum hardware programmes
• Deep, current expertise in atomic physics and quantum computing
• Strong understanding of light–matter interactions
• Proven track record delivering high-impact, technically complex projects
• Ability to influence technical direction across multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication skills across technical and executive audiences

US work authorization without sponsorship required.
