Job summary

DLS Engineering seeks a Principle Network Engineer for a full-time, on-site role with the Air Force Intranet Control program at Gunter Annex, AL. You will analyze, design, and troubleshoot complex enterprise networks, including SDN implementations and automation scripts, while supporting secure DoD networks.

The position requires IAT-II and CCNP certifications and an active Top Secret/SCI clearance, with a competitive salary and strong benefits.

• 10+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and hardening routers, serial consoles, load balancers, and switches.
• SME experience with enterprise network architectures and configurations; SDN experience highly desired.

Position overview:

DLS Engineering is seeking a Principle Network Engineer professional for a full-time position in support of the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) program at Gunter Annex in Montgomery, Alabama. This is an on-site position.

As part of AFINC, the mission of the 26th Network Operations Squadron (26 NOS) is to provide mission assurance to the warfighter through the operation, management, and defense of the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN). In the execution of its mission, the 26 NOS maintains network infrastructure, to include routers, switches, proxies, firewalls, servers, workstations, printers, Storage Area Networks (SAN) and test labs, to provide maneuverability and defense of both classified and unclassified networks.

A day in the life:

• Analyzes and simulates network traffic to aide in problem resolution or to test updated configurations in virtual or physical lab environments.
• Monitors system utilization and circuit bandwidth then reports anomalies to Government team leads. Design, implement, and troubleshoot the most complex Enterprise network solutions and/or issues.
• Develops, executes, modifies or removes scripts to assist in automation of tasks, as possible. Review and document all workload activities per incident or change request to eliminate re-work or for auditing/investigation purposes.

• SME experience with enterprise network architectures and configurations is paramount and experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) is highly desired.
