Job description

Principal Weapons Systems Engineer

Location: Melbourne, FL – on‑site, no hybrid or remote work.

Security Clearance: Must have active Secret clearance (within 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and be able to obtain Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable period as determined by business needs.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and testing.
  • Manage requirements, system integration, and develop test plans.
  • Execute weapon system testing through development, demonstration, and production phases.
  • Familiarize with SMS/S&RE hardware and software requirements throughout definition, design, integration, test, certification, and operation.
  • Apply governing standards including UAI Platform‑Store ICD, MIL‑STD‑1553, MIL‑STD‑1760, AS5653, etc., and prepare detailed requirements specifications, statements of work, test plans and procedures, certification plans, and performance reports.
  • Understand all system requirements, develop statements of work, specifications and interface control documents, prepare, monitor and update program schedules, conduct and participate in all related design reviews, and provide technical guidance to the cross‑functional team.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5years of related engineering experience, OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3years of related engineering experience, OR PhD in a STEM discipline and 1year of related engineering experience.
  • Familiarization with SMS/S&RE hardware and software requirements and end‑to‑end development and operation of SMS and S&RE.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance with background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance within reasonable time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with weapons and payload systems.
  • In‑depth knowledge of governing standards including UAI Platform‑Store ICD, MIL‑STD‑1553, MIL‑STD‑1760, AS5653.
  • Active Secret clearance with Special Program access.
Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $98,400.00 – $147,600.00. Salary is determined by scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives. Benefits include health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays, and paid time off (vacation and personal business).
