Job Description Summary

The Principal UX Designer for the Configuration Experience will be a foundational member of a growing, fast-paced team of designers and researchers who are re-envisioning the Castlight platform from the ground up. You will take ownership of a critical aspect of the platform: the “behind the scenes” tooling application that allows Benefit Leaders, implementation team members, and other administrators to customize, roll out, monitor, and update the end-user experience.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of a strategic, broad, and complex aspect of the Castlight platform. Independently create a plan and operational cadence for a full redesign, from discovery research to implementation, monitoring, and iteration.
• Develop a range of UX deliverables such as user journeys, workflows, experience architecture diagrams, storyboards, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups.
• Understand the needs and pain points of implementation team members, Benefit Leaders, and system administrators, translating those into seamless, modern experiences. Support customization and configuration needs from clients and product requirements.
• Engage at various levels of the design process, from high-level strategy to detailed interactions.
• Collaborate with product leaders to inform roadmaps and prioritize features based on user insights. Advocate for users and the design process, fostering collaboration.
• Communicate progress regularly to executives and clients, clearly articulating experience strategies and processes.
• Stay updated on UX trends and technological advancements, ensuring design practices remain industry-leading. Share new ideas and processes with the team and partners.
• Mentor and role-model for the growing design team, promoting a culture of design excellence. Contribute to team development and new practice initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in product design or related roles, managing initiatives across multiple products.
• Experience leading UX strategy for complex, user-facing products in fast-paced environments.
• Expertise in user-centered design, interaction, visual design, and information architecture.
• Proficiency with UX tools such as Figma.
• Understanding of agile development and collaboration with engineering and product teams.
• Strong skills in user research, applying insights to design decisions, and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating design rationale to senior stakeholders.
• Proven leadership in mentoring and developing design teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.

Compensation: $158,804 – $198,506 & bonus eligible (varies by market)
