Job summary

COLSA Corporation is seeking a Principal Systems & Product Design Engineer in Madison, Alabama. You will bridge Product Management and Engineering, turning operational needs into scalable architectures, requirements, and execution across aircraft, payloads, and mission systems.

You will guide cross-functional teams, drive design cycles, and ensure quality and change control while coordinating with executives and government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 10–12 years of experience in aerospace, defense, robotics or unmanned aircraft systems.
• Proven ability to define architectures, requirements, interfaces, and baselines.
• Experience with sUAS, mission payloads, RF, networking, autonomy, or embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
• Develop advanced system requirements and technical baselines.
• Design and support infrastructure including network, hardware, and software.
• Plan, integrate, and verify complex systems and subsystems.
• Collaborate with PM and Engineering to translate needs into architecture.
