A Day in the Life

We have multiple openings on our training and education team. We will consider remote work within the United States.

Become part of a dynamic team responsible for training and educating our sales and clinical specialist teams in the field of cardiac ablation to treat arrhythmias, one of the most exciting and fastest-growing areas of medical technology. As part of the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) Operating Unit (OU), you will play an integral role in educating a key group of the organization as the OU enters new market segments and expands its portfolio with advanced technologies. Use your creativity and passion to lead innovation in developing and advancing training and education to bring life-changing therapy to thousands of patients worldwide.

  1. Plans, develops, delivers, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers.
  2. Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids.
  3. Ensures training program(s) meet company and customer objectives.
  4. Maintains communication with customers to ensure effectiveness of training.
  5. May utilize trainers with technical expertise.
  6. Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
  7. May be assigned to a core team to assess the field's needs for a new or revised curriculum build utilizing the ADDIE model of adult instructional design.
  8. Strongly influence the design of new indication and product launch education plans based on business strategy, with a significant focus on functional results.
  9. Design and execute creative and engaging Field Sales and Clinical Specialists Education programs that are targeted, purposeful, and increase electrophysiology knowledge and skills in procedures and cardiac ablation therapies, to enable the commercial organization to meet its objectives.
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional groups (PACE T&E, Product Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Services, Legal, Quality, and Regulatory) to create education programs, curricula, course materials, and measurements that support business unit strategies and are compliant with regulatory, quality systems, and Business Conduct Standards.
  11. Demonstrate education effectiveness through systematic program evaluation and continuous improvement strategies.
  12. Work collaboratively with the Physician Education team to develop and deliver new processes, quality standards, and increase team efficiency.
  13. Capacity to adjust swiftly to shifting priorities to satisfy business requirements.
  14. Travel: up to 50%.
Qualifications for Principal Level
  • High School Diploma PLUS at least 11 years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in the medical device or healthcare industry, or equivalent experience.
  • Associate’s Degree PLUS at least 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree PLUS at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of EP mapping experience.
Nice to Have
  • Advanced Electrophysiology certification (RCIS or IBHRE preferred).
  • Computer skills: Excel, Smart Sheets, Articulate & Rise, Adobe, Camtasia, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Instructional design methods.
  • Presentation and excellent writing skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion and ability to deliver impactful training.
  • Knowledge of Medical device program curriculum build and delivery processes.
  • Ability to assess core competencies and identify gaps to develop targeted curricula.

Benefits & Compensation

Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package, supporting employees at every career and life stage. Salary ranges for U.S. locations (excluding PR): $121,600 - $182,400. This position is eligible for the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). Benefits include health, dental, vision insurance, HSA, FSA, life insurance, disability leave, tuition reimbursement, and well-being programs. Additional benefits are available to all regular employees, including incentive plans, 401(k) matching, paid time off, holidays, stock purchase plans, and more.
