  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, process-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve issues with limited oversight.

  • Must possess working knowledge of manufacturing, production, or operations environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instructor-led training across classroom and shop-floor settings, focusing on safety, compliance, and technical fundamentals.
  • Leverage manufacturing insights to audit and update training content to stay technically relevant to shop-floor requirements.
  • Support the accuracy of training records and certifications within LMS and readiness trackers.
  • Maintain and optimize training facilities and technology to provide a world-class learning environment.
  • Lead the end-to-end orientation lifecycle, evolving the curriculum to reflect the current business landscape and cultural values.
  • Coordinate readiness activities such as safety training, badge support, PPE guidance, and day-one logistics.
  • Act as the escalation point for onboarding barriers, driving cross-functional solutions to prevent delays.
  • Collaborate with Operations Leadership to align hiring with program-specific needs and shift requirements.
  • Design and facilitate the transition process from training to production floor, ensuring managers are equipped to mentor new talent.
  • Represent the organization at hiring events and support partnerships with technical schools and workforce agencies.

Job Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Training Representative to support hands‑on training, workforce readiness, and new hire orientation for the ASTAR organization. This high‑visibility role contributes to a strong manufacturing‑ready experience for new and existing employees. In addition to orientation and readiness activities for touch labor employees, this role also conducts hands‑on training for manufacturing processes such as composites, structures, and coatings, ensuring trainees are ready for handoff to the manufacturing floor. The selected candidate will serve as a key link between Workforce Development and Operations by delivering training, coordinating onboarding readiness, resolving issues, and scheduling training resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver instructor‑led training across classroom and shop‑floor settings, focusing on safety, compliance, and technical fundamentals.
  • Leverage manufacturing insights to continuously audit and update training content, ensuring it remains technically relevant to evolving shop‑floor requirements.
  • Support the accuracy of training records and certifications within LMS and readiness trackers.
  • Maintain and optimize training facilities and technology to provide a world‑class learning environment.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years aerospace manufacturing experience in either composites, structures, or low observable coatings and/or related education experience, or a master’s degree and 3 years of manufacturing experience and/or related education experience.
  • Ability to lead hands‑on instructor‑led training and deliver presentations to large employee groups.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, process‑oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve issues with limited oversight.
  • Ability to interface with employees, managers, and cross‑functional business partners.
  • Must possess working knowledge of manufacturing, production, or operations environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience procuring production material.
  • Experience partnering closely with Operations, Safety, Quality, HR, or other cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience delivering instructor‑led training in classroom and/or production support settings.
  • Experience tracking training completion, employee readiness, or onboarding progress using Excel, LMS, or other data systems.
  • Experience preparing training materials, classrooms, job aids, or supporting training logistics.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and group engagement skills.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation

Primary Level Salary Range: $85,600.00 – $128,400.00

Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long‑Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman provides benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation and/or personal business.
