Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Principal Test Lead to drive quality assurance strategy and execution for the Deposits engineering team. You will coordinate full stack testing across UI, API, services, and data layers, ensuring robust test coverage and vendor collaboration.

The role requires deep banking domain expertise, hands-on test automation, and a track record of leading enterprise-scale testing initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software testing with 5+ years in banking/financial services.
• Full Stack Testing across UI, API, middleware, database, and integration.
• Expert proficiency in Cypress, Maestro, Cucumber, Watchman, Rest Assured.
• Frontend testing for web and mobile interfaces.
• Backend and microservices testing across services.
• Integration testing across system boundaries.
• Test data management and data conditioning strategies.
• Proven track record leading enterprise-level testing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate test plans across Agile teams and vendors.
• Define comprehensive full stack test strategies for UI/API/services.
• Establish test data requirements and conditioning frameworks.
• Drive end-to-end testing across all technology layers.
• Facilitate cross-team testing activities and coordination.
• Ensure test coverage for deposits functionality across the stack.
• Coordinate performance testing (load, stress, scalability).
• Monitor test script execution and burndown metrics.
• Create and maintain defect dashboards in JIRA.
• Set defect priorities and manage triage meetings.
• Provide governance via regular testing status reporting.
