Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Principal Technology Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge IT solutions that enhance organizational efficiency, security, and collaboration. This role combines expertise in monitoring and analytics, automation, knowledge management, incident and change management, and AI integration. Leveraging advanced Microsoft 365 E5 tools and other technologies, the Principal Engineer will drive innovation, operational excellence, and knowledge sharing across the enterprise.


Experience Must Haves

Monitoring and Analytics

  1. Deploy and manage monitoring tools such as Microsoft Sentinel and Endpoint Manager to ensure IT systems' health and security.
  2. Build real-time dashboards in Power BI for performance monitoring, operational KPIs, and usage trends.
  3. Configure and maintain proactive alerting mechanisms in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
  4. Analyze data patterns to predict future issues and provide actionable insights.
  5. Actively work on the reduction of incidents and mean time to resolution (MTTR).
  6. Increase operational efficiency through automation and predictive analytics.

Automation Engineering

  1. Design, develop, and deploy workflows using Power Automate, PowerShell, and Azure Logic Apps.
  2. Integrate Microsoft Graph API and third-party tools for custom automation solutions.
  3. Automate device provisioning, compliance management, and patch deployment with Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
  4. Create detailed documentation for automation scripts and processes.

Knowledge Management

  1. Implement workflows in Power Automate to streamline updating, reviewing, and approving knowledge assets.
  2. Develop centralized knowledge repositories using SharePoint and Viva Topics.
  3. Organize IT documentation and SOPs for easy retrieval and version control.
  4. Monitor and improve usage of knowledge repositories to enhance accessibility.
  5. Create user satisfaction with knowledge repositories and AI-driven solutions.

Incident and Change Management

  1. Develop workflows for incident management using Teams, Power Automate, and ITSM tools.
  2. Oversee change management processes, ensuring smooth deployment and minimal downtime.
  3. Facilitate collaboration during critical incidents using Microsoft Teams.
  4. Track and report on incidents and changes to drive continuous improvement.

AI Integration and Optimization

  1. Design and implement AI-driven workflows using Power Automate and AI Builder.
  2. Leverage AI tools like Copilot and Viva Insights for predictive, actionable productivity insights.
  3. Enhance security operations by automating responses with Sentinel and Defender for Endpoint.

Additional Skills & Experience

  1. Proven 10+ years of experience across IT operations, monitoring, and automation.
  2. Certifications in Microsoft 365, Azure AI, ITIL, or related fields.
  3. Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
  4. Experience with integrating AI solutions at enterprise scale.
  5. In-depth understanding of uptime and reliability of IT systems and automation workflows.
  6. Expertise in Microsoft 365 E5 tools, including Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, Viva Topics, Sentinel, and Graph API.
  7. Strong scripting skills with PowerShell and Python.
  8. Solid understanding of ITIL processes for incident and change management.
  9. Proficiency in AI/ML development, Azure AI, and Machine Learning integration.
  10. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
