Principal Technical Consultant, Platform Engineering

Serving as a technical thought leader and SME for our ecosystem of partners, customers, and service providers in the realm of Modern Apps & Platform Engineering, in addition to leading other teammates. The Principal Technical Consultant works as part of the consulting team to lead the development, design, implementation, and engagement of client solutions. They manage, mentor, and delegate to engineers on projects, oversee career development plans, and support internal initiatives.

This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and deep technical expertise across various domains.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, with high quality, exceeding client expectations.
• Design and implement complex, mission-critical enterprise solutions for clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, drive business growth, and identify upselling opportunities.
• Develop high-quality technical and non-technical deliverables and presentations for client teams and leadership.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their challenges and develop tailored solutions.
• Create and present solution designs, options, and innovations to client leadership.
• Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and innovation plans.
• Develop and implement CI/CD solutions.
• Establish project estimates, plans, identify risks, and oversee delivery.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering growth and excellence.
• Lead collaboration within technical communities.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop solutions on a whiteboard in front of clients.
• Strong consulting and business acumen.
• 10+ years of IT experience; 5+ years in Cloud, DevOps, Automation, Modernization, Digital Transformation.
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Pro, Azure Solutions Architect, Terraform Associate, etc.
• Hands-on experience with core platform services: Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, Containers, Security, Identity.
• Experience with organizational adoption of transformational initiatives: Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Transformation, Modernization.
• Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation.
• Experience with deployment tools: Harness, GitHub, Jenkins, etc.
• Programming experience in Java, Python, or similar languages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of cloud-native design principles, DevSecOps, IaC, CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of enterprise organizations across industries and IT functions.

The compensation range reflects OTE, including base salary and bonus, varying by experience, qualifications, and location.
