Principal Technical Consultant, Platform Engineering

This role serves as a technical thought leader and SME within our ecosystem of partners, customers, and service providers, specializing in Modern Apps & Platform Engineering. The Principal Technical Consultant leads the development, design, and implementation of client solutions, mentors engineers, manages career development plans, and supports internal initiatives. The role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and deep technical expertise across multiple domains.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Design and implement complex, mission-critical enterprise solutions for clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, driving business growth and identifying upselling opportunities.
• Create high-quality technical and non-technical deliverables and presentations for client teams and senior leaders.
• Collaborate with clients to understand technical challenges and develop tailored solutions.
• Present solution designs, options, and innovations to client leadership.
• Develop and maintain Technical Roadmaps and Innovation Plans.
• Implement CI/CD solutions.
• Establish project estimates, plans, identify risks, and oversee solution delivery.
• Mentor and coach team members, supporting their professional growth.
• Lead collaboration within technical communities.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop solutions collaboratively in front of clients, demonstrating strong consulting skills.
• Strong business acumen and consulting experience.
• 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in Cloud, DevOps, Automation, Application Modernization, or Digital Transformation.
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS DevOps Engineer Pro, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Terraform Associate, etc.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing core platform services: Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, Containers, Security, Identity.
• Experience with organizational adoption of Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Transformation, etc.
• Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation.
• Experience with deployment tools such as Harness, GitHub, Jenkins, and knowledge of branching strategies.
• Programming experience in Java, Python, or similar languages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of cloud-native design principles, DevSecOps, IaC, CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of enterprise organizational functions across industries.
