Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Lead Enterprise Architect in Wisconsin to own architecture across multiple capabilities, guiding design decisions and ensuring scalable, maintainable solutions. You will partner with engineering teams to translate business goals into technical strategies and drive modernization while preserving platform stability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or advanced degree in CS/Engineering or related field.

Job description

Lead architectural design decisions and provide technical leadership to ensure scalable and maintainable end-to-end solutions across multiple systems and Metro Billing capabilities.
Develop and maintain solution designs from concept through deployment, ensuring alignment with architecture standards, engineering best practices, and business requirements.
Partner closely with engineering teams to review application code, validate implementation approaches, and provide technical guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.
Translate business initiatives and requirements into scalable technical solutions while identifying implementation risks, dependencies, and opportunities for modernization.
Balance innovation with platform stability by recommending where new technologies and approaches should be adopted and where existing solutions should be maintained.
Own overall architecture for multiple capabilities, collaborating on frameworks, standards, and reusable components to support enterprise technology consistency.
Engage with business stakeholders during project ideation to define solution options and support business case development prior to project initiation.
Communicate solution designs through architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and design reviews using tools such as Lucid and Confluence.
Collaborate with Agile delivery teams using Jira to support planning, execution, and solution governance.
Coach and mentor engineers through architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical decision‑making while promoting engineering best practices.
Evaluate and leverage AI‑assisted engineering tools, such as Claude, to improve engineering productivity where appropriate.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree plus 7 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 5 years of related experience (Required)
Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. (Required)
7-10 years Progressive experience in software engineering/enterprise architecture/technology leadership across multiple products, systems and/or platforms coupled with strong business acumen and executive presence. (Required)
7-10 years Experience working in solutions design and enterprise architecture delivering IT solutions. (Required)
7-10 years Experience in Enterprise applications, PLM, middle-tier services, database, storage, distributed computing, virtualization and/or application technology. (Required)
