As a Principal Systems Safety Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our systems. You will be responsible for developing and implementing safety strategies, conducting hazard analyses, and providing guidance on safety regulations and standards. Your expertise and attention to detail will be instrumental in maintaining the highest level of safety for our products and solutions. Our complex Anthem system is an integrated avionics platform for Part 23 and Part 25 aircraft for a variety of customers, both domestic and international. The Anthem system provides a modernized cockpit with touch screen displays and full avionics capabilities including flight management, navigation, communication systems, etc. Our Anthem applications systems team develops solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency for key customer programs. You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager for the Anthem avionics system, and you'll work out of our Deer Valley, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the safety and reliability of our systems, ensuring that they meet the highest industry standards and regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement System Safety strategies for our Anthem system applications
  • Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments
  • Development and analysis of fault trees
  • Provide guidance on safety regulations and standards to meet system certifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety requirements are met
  • Participate in safety reviews and audits with customers and aviation authorities

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems safety engineering for avionics systems
  • Strong knowledge of avionics safety regulations and standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
