Job summary

Gov Solutions Group in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced MDA Principal Systems Engineer for Threat Discrimination to perform performance analyses of GMD systems. You will develop analytical tools in MATLAB and Python, evaluate engagement outcomes, and communicate findings to government leadership.

The role requires an active SECRET (or higher) clearance and a strong background in statistics, Monte Carlo methods, and data visualization.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in STEM with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience supporting MDA GMD programs.
• Advanced proficiency in MATLAB for model development, data analysis, and visualization.
• Proficiency with Python and libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib).
• Experience evaluating MD engagement performance, interceptor effectiveness, or mission performance.
• Strong statistical, numerical methods, optimization, and simulation-based assessment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with government briefs.
• Active security clearance (SECRET or above) required.
• Experience with Monte Carlo analysis and digital engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform performance analyses of GMD system capabilities using modeling and simulation.
• Develop methodologies to evaluate engagement outcomes and mission success.
• Design and maintain analytical tools using MATLAB and Python.
• Conduct Monte Carlo simulations and trade-space assessments.
• Analyze large simulation datasets to identify trends and improvements.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and data visualizations for leadership.
• Collaborate with engineers, software teams, and government stakeholders.
• Support design reviews and customer briefings.
• Maintain documentation of modeling assumptions.
