Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer – Responsible Systems Engineer for the Tucson, AZ team. You will lead the effort to update and maintain all system requirements, and drive verification across disciplines in a high-stakes defense program.

As the SE lead, you will collaborate with hardware teams and the Chief Engineer, guiding a multi-disciplinary team through system development and verification activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with systems software, firmware, hardware, requirements, integration, or testing preferred.
• Active and transferable Top Secret security clearance required before start date.

Responsibilities

• Lead effort to update and maintain all system and subsystem level requirements specifications.
• SE technical lead for verification and validation efforts, ensuring requirements are assessed during testing.
• SE technical lead, collaborating with Systems and Hardware IPTLs and Chief Engineer on program tasks.
• Lead Systems Verification Reviews with Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and IPT Leadership.
• Become the knowledgeable, go-to Systems Engineer for the program.
• Mentor new team members using core Systems Engineering skills.
