Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. (AU) in San Diego seeks a systems engineering professional for full-time, on-site work with Top Secret clearance and 25% travel. The role focuses on system definitions, requirements, and verification across multiple IPTs.

The position requires a STEM degree and active clearance. Relocation assistance may be available. You will support integration testing and milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) across complex hardware and software subsystems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field with 5 years of relevant military/professional experience, or Master’s in STEM with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance or higher (with CI or Continuous Evaluation).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance within business needs.

Job description

RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: Relocation assistance may be available

CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: Yes

CLEARANCE TYPE: Top Secret

TRAVEL: Yes, 25% of the Time

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform system definition activities for features and DRs, including by defining use cases, requirements, and feature acceptance criteria.
  • Supporting cross-IPT development of system and segment level requirements and use cases.
  • Implementing requirements verification methodology and traceability.
  • Supporting development of interface definitions and integration plans.
  • Conducting formal integration and support capabilities-based system level testing of fully integrated complex software and hardware subsystems.
  • Evaluating integration and test anomalies and assist disposition and correction of issues as found.
  • Performing requirements verification and selloff.
  • Providing support to flight test and fielded assets.
  • Coordinate with REs and System Test to ensure integrated functions are ready for the test team to formally verify.
  • Leveraging your ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, showing your action oriented, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
  • Using your experience supporting Systems Engineering Milestones SRR, PDR and CDR.
  • Leveraging your knowledge of experience in full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification and requirements management.
  • You will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field and 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM field 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and 1 year of relevant military / professional experience.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current SAP clearance to program.
  • Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
  • Experience in ICD development and integration.
  • Experience in System Test.
  • Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.
  • Experience with multiple disciplines across Systems Engineering, incl. requirements, integration, technical configuration management (CM or Technical Baseline), cyber.
  • Experience in DOORS & Atlassian Tool Suite.
  • Experience with Agile Design Methodology.

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00.
