Job summary

Ally Financial in Charlotte, NC seeks a Principal - System Engineer to support Federal Reserve and SEC reporting platforms. You will administer, configure, and support Nasdaq Axiom (AxiomSL) and Workiva SEC applications, partnering with Business, Technology, and Risk teams to ensure platform stability and timely regulatory submissions.

The role requires 7+ years in systems engineering or regulatory tech in financial services, with BA/BS and hands-on work with SQL, Snowflake, PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or regulatory technology.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent.
• Experience with Nasdaq Axiom (AxiomSL) or Workiva SEC platforms and regulatory reporting.
• Proficient in SQL for data validation and reconciliation across large datasets.
• Experience with Snowflake and PostgreSQL for data storage and integration.
• Familiar with Basel III, liquidity coverage ratio, and 10-K/10-Q filings.
• Experience in Agile delivery with Jira/Confluence and AWS-based ETL pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage environment consistency across QA, UAT, and production tiers.
• Monitor and validate scheduled batch runs for regulatory submissions.
• Triage and resolve data pipeline failures in AWS-based ETL workflows.
• Implement AxiomSL configuration changes for regulatory updates.
• Coordinate platform releases and patches with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with Business, Risk, and Tech in daily Agile ceremonies.
• Maintain data lineage and audit-ready documentation.
• Identify opportunities to optimize reporting workflows and data quality.
