Job summary

RTX in Richardson, TX is seeking an experienced engineer to support development of nuclear surety products and certification documents. The role requires onsite presence and possession of a DoD Secret clearance from day one. Citizenship is required for the clearance.

You will collaborate with Integrated Product Teams to validate certification across the program, lead proposal efforts, and assist in estimating, tracking, and reporting performance across technical, cost, schedule, and risk domains.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in STEM, or 5 years with an advanced degree, or 12 years without a degree.
  • Active and transferable U.S. Government DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship (required for clearance).
  • Strategic nuclear operations mission experience, particularly within Nuclear Triad programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a professional team environment.
  • Organizational skills that enable management of multiple tasks, priorities, and schedules.

Job description

Please note: This role is located in Richardson, TX, and requires an onsite presence with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance on day 1. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required clearance.

What You Will Do
  • Support the development of key nuclear surety products, including nuclear surety impact statements, Certification Requirements Plans (CRPs), Nuclear Surety Analysis Reports (NSARs), Nuclear Surety Management Plans (NSMPs), and related technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to review work products, coordinate engineering activities, and ensure all certification requirements are met across the program.
  • Lead technical proposal efforts, contribute as a subject matter expert during internal and customer reviews, and support estimation, tracking, and reporting of technical, cost, schedule, and risk performance for assigned scope.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Model‑Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience with project planning, execution, and development of requirements specifications.
  • Background in Bid and Proposal (B&P) or pursuit capture activities.
  • Experience supporting USSTRATCOM Airborne Command Post or National Airborne Operations Center missions.
