Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer in the Rolling Meadows, IL location. You will lead a team, develop complex virtual models, and perform mission modeling in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong MBSE, SysML, and programming skills, with exposure to EOIR and RF domains. On-site work in Rolling Meadows is expected with clearances and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of related experience or Master’s with 3+ years or PhD with 1+ year.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of model-based systems engineering concepts and SysML tools.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, C, C++, CUDA, VHDL, OpenCL, Python or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with virtual environments and mission modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, test and analyze complex virtual representations of systems.
• Design system models, document assumptions and performance.
• Create test automation and test reports for SILs or virtual envs.
• Perform mission-level operational analysis using System of Systems modeling.
• Apply EOIR, optics, RF knowledge to modeling and simulation tasks.
• Lead engineers in an IPT environment and collaborate across teams.
