Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace unit is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer (IV&V) to support the NC3 program in Richardson, TX. The role requires leading verification and validation across large, complex systems, mentoring engineers, and ensuring traceability from requirements to validation.

You'll apply SysML across the lifecycle, manage technical risks, and contribute to proposal efforts while collaborating with distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in writing requirements specifications or executing verification/qualification test events.
• Ability to travel domestically (10% of time).
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) + 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree + 5 years of experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Top Secret clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Join Collins Aerospace and help shape the future of Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) as part of the Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) Program, supporting the recapitalization of the U.S. Air Force E‑4B fleet with next‑generation capabilities. As a Principal Systems Engineer on the Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V) team, you will support complex military communications systems on the E-4 platform and collaborate with geographically distributed, multidisciplinary teams. You will apply systems engineering expertise across the full development lifecycle, including customer needs analysis, requirements development and traceability, trade studies, system architecture and design, modeling, integration, verification, validation, and qualification. You will develop and validate system models, design and document hardware and software solutions, lead technical discussions, and identify and resolve complex technical issues.

This position is onsite in Richardson, TX.

• You will make decisions that may have a major impact on cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• You will recommend new approaches, tools, and techniques that drive continuous improvement in technical development processes.
• You will mentor product development teams in the use of appropriate processes and tools throughout product development to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
