Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the Athena Control Systems Team. You will architect, develop, certify, and maintain safety-critical embedded systems for manned and unmanned aerospace applications.

The role emphasizes system dynamics, guidance, control, perception, and integration testing with a focus on quality and safety. Onsite in Sterling, VA, with up to 15% travel and a DoD Secret clearance requirement.

Qualifications

• Experience with software development for embedded systems and real-time environments.
• Familiarity with MATLAB or similar tools for run-time software-in-the-loop testing.
• Experience developing and testing certified safety-critical systems in lab environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in software and system design reviews to meet milestones.
• Write and execute integration and verification tests for high-quality, safe solutions.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders across programs.
• Support requirements traceability and testing procedures across projects.
• Drive improvements in development processes and tooling.
