Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to lead enterprise API Platform & GraphQL efforts. You will own API gateway design, secure, scalable services, and modernize platform migrations across Apigee and GraphQL ecosystems.

You will drive GraphQL strategy using Apollo Federation, Router, and schema governance while mentoring engineers and partnering with Security, Infra, and Architecture teams. This role requires deep API security and cloud-native expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT experience.
• 7+ years of experience within a total IT environment.
• 7+ years of experience with design, development and support of technology infrastructure.
• Experience administring Apigee OPDK and Apigee Hybrid on Azure.
• Experience engineering enterprise platforms, middleware, API management or distributed environments.
• Hands-on deploying Apigee Hybrid on Azure AKS/Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with Apollo GraphQL, Federation, Router, schema design and governance.
• Deep knowledge of API security including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, mTLS.
