U.S. Bank is seeking a senior API Platform Engineer to act as the technical SME for the enterprise API ecosystem. You will design and deliver secure, scalable API gateway solutions across Apigee OPDK, Apigee Hybrid on Azure, and Apollo GraphQL platforms.
Lead modernization efforts including migrations, governance, and security controls such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and mTLS. Mentor engineers and drive automation via GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Ansible.

Act as the technical SME for our enterprise API ecosystem, leading engineering efforts across Apigee OPDK, Apigee Hybrid (Azure), and Apollo GraphQL platforms. Design and deliver secure, scalable, and highly available API gateway solutions that support critical business applications. Lead API platform modernization initiatives, including Apigee On-Prem to Apigee Hybrid migrations and cloud-native platform adoption. Drive GraphQL platform strategy, architecture, and optimization utilizing Apollo Federation, Apollo Router, and schema governance. Implement enterprise API security controls including OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, traffic management, and API governance standards. Automate platform deployments and operations using GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code. Improve platform reliability through monitoring, observability, incident response, performance tuning, and capacity planning. Partner with Architects, Security, Infrastructure, and Development teams while mentoring engineers and advancing AI-driven engineering practices.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00 U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
